Albuquerque's Westside is marked by the peaks of dormant volcanoes and the treasures of Petroglyph National Monument, where visitors can walk for miles among ancient volcanic rock etchings. 
The historic and natural geologic highlights of Albuquerque's Westside is the Petroglyph National Monument. This National Monument is managed jointly by the City of Albuquerque and the National Park Service. It occupies 7,244 acres of Albuquerque Real Estate on Albuquerque's Westside. Great day hike trails lead to some of the nearly 20,000 petroglyphs in the area. Boca Negra Horseman's Complex is located near Petroglyph National Monument on Albuquerque's Westside as well and is and excellent facility managed by the City of Albuquerque’s open space program. Albuquerque's Westside landscape includes the five dormant volcanic cones that helped to create Albuquerque's unique rift valley and a seventeen-mile black basalt escarpment that is part of the National Monument, and highlight the
varied and interesting geology of the Albuquerque community.
Other points of interest include Desert Greens Golf Course, Ladera Golf Course, Albuquerque Shooting Range Park, Double Eagle general aviation Airport, Cottonwood Mall, Albuquerque Radio Control Club - George Maloof Airpark, and Pueblo Montano Picnic Area and Trailhead to name a few.
High on Albuquerque's Westside is the best place to enjoy our famous New Mexican sunsets as glowing pink light splashes over the Sandia Mountains.

This is an area of suburban feel and encompasses many neighborhoods including Alban Hills - Las Terrazas - Rancho Sereno - Richland Hills - Riverview Estates and Santa Fe Village. It offers a wide selection styles, and price ranges in both new homes, new subdivisions and quality resale homes.
A newer Westside mater-planned community sprinkled with many neighborhood parks. The schools in the area are newer also with Volcano Vista High School Albuquerque's newest high school opened in 2007. Hillerman Middle School and Antigua Elementary both open in 2009. There is a great community center with basketball & tennis courts, a swimming pool and a 6.6 million dollar community park under construction.
